Deep charcoal gives this solid-colored cashmere scarf the presence of fine tailoring, with a soft surface that tempers its dark, restrained tone. Worn over crisp shirting or gathered inside a coat, it brings warmth close to the skin without a heavy drape. Individually handloomed in Pokhara, Nepal, from 100% Himalayan cashmere, the 79 × 26 inch unisex design provides ample length for a neck scarf and enough width for a shoulder wrap. Dry clean, or hand wash cold and lay flat to dry, allowing the fabric the same considered care that went into its making. Through a local nonprofit partnership, Pokhara Nepal Artisans provides blind, deaf and other disabled weavers with tools and training for independent livelihoods. Make it your dark neutral for evenings out, journeys away and the familiar pleasure of dressing well.

Artisan Profile

Nepal/Tibetan Himalayan cashmere is renowned as some of the softest cashmere in the world. Cashmere is extremely light and luxuriously soft yet keeps you extremely warm. Cashmere comes from the softest undercoat of a goat and it takes an average of three goats wool to make one scarf!

All of our cashmere scarves and throws are hand-loomed in Pokhara Nepal by blind, deaf, or disabled weavers. We partner with a local non-profit organization that provides them with the tools, training, and support necessary to become independent through weaving. In Nepal, the disabled are discriminated against in mainstream society. They have little or no opportunities for work. Weaving allows them to enjoy an independent life, increases their self-esteem, and also improves the way they are treated by their family. The organization further gives back to the disabled community by donating white canes, hearing aids, and wheelchairs, providing food, medicine, and essential goods for aged-care homes, helping the poor, and distributing relief to earthquake and landslide victims. With such a great cause, these are our favorite pieces!
